Jesus: His Life and Words
For the first time in publishing history, a book presents a complete compendium of the known sayings of Jesus—and it comes with an extended introduction examining the sources of these sayings and the known facts about Yeshua's life (Jesus' real name was Yeshua). This is all culled from a wide range of Jewish, Greek, Roman, and Christian sources, and paints a very different portrait of Yeshua to the traditional one.
This book is a fascinating examination of the unreliability of traditional Christian sources, and a revealing investigation of other evidence. Prominence is given to the dozens of ancient texts declared heretical by the early Church. Using these books and artistic imagery from the ancient world, this book casts new light on the profound links between early Christianity and contemporary pagan religions of the Roman world. Fascinatingly, it shows the degree Christianity modelled itself on these ancient pagan religions, especially the fashionable cult of Mithras/Sol Invictus.
All of Yeshua's words from the bible are set out in this book, along with selections from many other ancient 'heretical' texts—especially the long-lost 'Nag Hammadi gospels'—many of which are as old as the bible.
This book allows readers to evaluate Yeshua’s life and his words, free of any agenda or selective editing. It enables readers to form a uniquely independent view of who Yeshua was, and what he believed. The results are genuinely surprising.
