Barry Ernest biography

Barry Ernest has been researching (some might say, obsessed with) the John F. Kennedy assassination since 1967. He has traveled to Dallas to conduct interviews. He has labored more hours in the National Archives than he cares to remember. And he spent 35 years searching for a single witness.

He chronicles that story in The Girl on the Stairs, his first book.

A former writer and investigative journalist for the Syracuse (New York) Herald-Journal and Herald-American, Barry's articles on government activities and federal court trials won him kudos for his accuracy and clarity. Several of those articles were printed in the Toronto (Canada) Star.

Prior to that, Barry was a staff writer and features reporter for the York (Pennsylvania) Sunday News. A magna cum laude graduate of Point Park College (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) with a degree in journalism, he also served as a Director of Communications and speechwriter for the State of Pennsylvania.

Barry has appeared on numerous talk shows regarding his assassination research, and he continues to give speeches and conduct seminars regarding his efforts. He also lectures on the subject at schools and various social functions.

He lives in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, with his wife Patty, who continues to put up with his convictions.

how I found the agency

"As a first-time author, I was clueless about agents. So many and all so similar. I scoured the internet listings and checked the usual hard-copy resources at the library. Under the non- fiction and history categories, I kept seeing Andrew's name. I checked his website and was impressed. When I sent my query, he responded immediately with detailed questions. Then he requested my full manuscript, read it carefully, and obtained some independent reader reports. Never had another agent gone to this extent or showed such professionalism. It was the ultimate confidence builder. Fortunately, he offered to represent me. If I'm ever featured at book signings, Andrew will certainly be the one to make it happen."
