Helen Ibbotson biography

After graduating with a First Class Honours Degree in Health & Community Studies, Helen started studying for her PhD. Her research was abruptly curtailed when she began to have flashbacks of severe and enduring abuse which she had repressed since childhood. Helen was subsequently diagnosed with Multiple Personality Disorder (M.P.D.) now referred to as Dissociative Identity Disorder (D.I.D.) .

how I found the angency

"I started to write my memoirs as an emotional release from severe and enduring abuse but, after writing some 20,000 words, several people thought that it had the potential to be published. But how? My partner trawled through the internet, looking for a suitable agent. Andrew’s website proved most interesting and as a published author himself and with his years of experience in the publishing field, but also offering a unique ‘personal’ service, I was keen to submit my writing to him. His response was very positive and encouraging and following a two hour meeting with him one Saturday his enthusiasm about the potential for my book has given me the incentive to continue writing. Thank you Andrew!"
