Unwanted Children

Lara and her one-year-old son, Arthur, are brought to the home of experienced, foster carer, Cathy Glass, by their social worker. Lara is fleeing an abusive relationship and Arthur has suspected non-accidental injuries. Lara claims her son is accident prone but the social services have doubts.

Cathy’s role is to keep Arthur safe and assess Lara’s parenting capacity, giving her help and advice where necessary in the hope she will be able to make the necessary changes to keep her son. It is a huge responsibility for Cathy especially as all the social worker’s ‘visits’ are only online due to covid restrictions.

Then one cold dark winter’s evening during lockdown Lara sees a homeless young man sleeping in a shop doorway and starts a conversation with him. What he tells her changes the course of their lives forever.
