Some of the features that authors appear to like about the Andrew Lownie Literary Agency is that I personally deal with everything, including submissions to America and most film approaches, so you will always have the full attention of the boss: that I am an author myself and therefore know the practical and emotional issues that often exercise authors: that I have over twenty years experience of not just agenting but also bookselling, publishing and journalism: that as a specialist non-fiction agent I am well read in the subjects I cover and have all the relevant contacts and that I am always at the end of a phone or email - often late at night and at weekends.
Many authors have been with the agency for over twenty years and/or since their first book but the agency also specialises in taking on authors in mid career who feel they need to be taken to a new level.
The website is aimed at giving all authors, not just those interested in joining the agency, information about the publishing process, the role of agents, publishing trends, useful websites and tips on writing, presentation, finding a publisher, publicity and practical issues such as tax exemption forms and Public Lending Right registration.
